SH Auto Parts uses intelligent automation for flexible, efficient CNC machining of suspension components. Our CNC machines at our Smart Factory in Taichung are loaded by a robot arm that features a patented ‘hot-swap’ head that is used to pick up the specific billets for each component in the production run.

One robot to load multiple CNC machines

Our robot runs on a track that enables it to load multiple CNC machines, removing the need for additional robot arms, and is programmed to change pick up heads to match the components that are being manufactured on each of our multiple CNC machining lines. Because of this, SH Auto Parts can manufacture multiple components simultaneously using the same production line and robotic loader.

Efficient loading arm reconfiguration

While the CNC machine is cutting a billet for a specific suspension component, the robot arm travels to the next CNC station where it is able to reconfigure by swapping the end of the loading arm to suit the component being manufactured.

Automated loading of the correct billet for each CNC station

A new billet of a different type can be loaded into the next machine, locked in place and machined while the robot arm moves to the next station to load the same or another different component for manufacturing. Billets are arranged on shelves ready for the robot to pick up and place in the CNC machine, which features in-house tooling that correctly positions and locks the billet in place for machining.
